Bicyclist suffers traumatic brain injury after being hit by car

A student was injured recently after the bicycle he was riding was hit by a car in another state. According to the police, the accident occurred on a recent Saturday morning in November, close to the man's university campus. He is currently listed in critical condition, and he apparently suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of the crash. When Pennsylvania residents suffer serious injury due to the negligence of another party, they retain the right to file a personal injury claim for financial relief.

The student, whose age was not reported, is majoring in electrical engineering. He was biking around 11:45 a.m. when the accident occurred. The crash threw him onto another vehicle's windshield. In the process, one side of his head took the full force of the impact.

The student was immediately rushed to a local medical center in Minnesota, where the accident occurred. He underwent around five hours of surgery, which succeeded in relieving pressure that had built up on his brain. He was then transferred into the medical center's ICU. At the moment, he can open his eyes when he is spoken to, nod his head and it's possible that his breathing tube may be removed in the near futures.

When Pennsylvania individuals are involved in accidents causing a traumatic brain injury, it may not always be clear how to best handle the onslaught of medical bills as well as the cost of therapy. If the accident was caused by the negligence of another party, the victim may proceed with a personal injury claim against the party believed responsible for the accident and injury. When successfully navigated, this type of claim may result in financial relief to help pay for the incurred expenses. Pennsylvania families in similar situations typically begin this process by consulting with an experienced personal injury attorney.
